Fez gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em Economia pela Pontif\u00edcia Universidade Cat\u00f3lica do Rio de Janeiro (1969), mestrado (1975) e doutorado (1986) no Programa de P\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em Antropologia Social da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (PPGAS\/UFRJ\/MN). Fez p\u00f3s-doutorado na \u00c9cole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales de Paris (1988-1990).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c9 professor do Museu Nacional desde 1978, foi professor visitante na Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2003-2006) e diretor do Col\u00e9gio Brasileiro de Altos Estudos da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro- CBAE\/UFRJ entre 2012 a 2019. Tem experi\u00eancia na \u00e1rea de Antropologia Urbana, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: antropologia do trabalho e dos trabalhadores, meio ambiente e conflitos sociais, hist\u00f3ria social das ci\u00eancias sociais relacionadas ao trabalho, antropologia do esporte e mem\u00f3ria dos movimentos sociais.
